Web browsers serve as the doorway to the vast landscape of the digital world, that is the internet.
After integrating ChatGPT, Microsoft Edge has accumulated nearly 300 million users, as per calculations made by the Atlas VPN team. The number of users increased to 50 million users merely months after its implementation. Despite this growth, Google Chrome and Safari remain the dominant players in the browser market.
Chrome’s impressive user count of around 3.4 billion can be attributed to its strong features, user-friendly interface, and seamless integration with Google services.
On the other hand, Safari reached over 1.1 billion users. Apple’s Safari browser experienced significant growth last year, surpassing 1 billion users and has continued to expand to 1.1 billion users this year. Opera, on the other hand, witnessed a 40% increase in user numbers, rising from 109 million to 152 million users since April 2022.
Firefox currently has around 150 million users, while Samsung Internet browser has a user base of nearly 135 million individuals.

Cybersecurity writer at Atlas VPN, Vilius Kardelis, shares his thoughts on browser market share: “The growth of Microsoft Edge has sparked a wave of innovation among its competitors. A notable example is Google’s integration of its Bard AI into Chrome, a clear response to Edge’s success. Such a competitive environment promises a bright future for web browsing.”
To optimize your browsing experience, consider the following tips:
1. Keep your browser up to date
Regularly update your browser to benefit from the latest security patches and performance enhancements. Staying current ensures better protection against vulnerabilities and maintains optimal performance.
