Vodafone Idea Business Services (VIBS) has joined hands with Microsoft to provide secure connectivity to Microsoft Azure through the ExpressRoute service.

VIBS is the enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea Ltd. It provides ExpressRoute service to enable a private, secure, and high-performance MPLS VPN connectivity. The partnership will help customers to establish a secure connection while connecting their applications to Azure.

The telecom operator mentioned that the aim of ExpressRoute service is to assist partners in their digital transformation journey by delivering reliability, lower latency, and higher security to Azure Cloud.

“We are happy to partner with Microsoft to support our customer as they move towards a Cloud-centric approach to their businesses in their digital transformation. Cloud adoption is a ‘when’ and not an ‘if’. It is integral to growing the business economically with speed and efficiency, said Nick Gliddon, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Vodafone Idea.

“With the market moving towards cloud at a fast pace, our focus is to build an eco-system which allows our customers to extend their on-premise network on to Microsoft Cloud on a private connection.”

This partnership will definitely support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large enterprises that are increasingly adopting hybrid and other cloud-based platforms.

“Organizations, both business and government, are increasingly leveraging the cloud to empower their workforce, engage customers, optimize operations and transform products. With Vodafone Idea ExpressRoute connectivity Microsoft cloud will become a natural extension to an organization’s datacenters, making available the scale and economies of a public cloud through a robust and secure network connectivity,” said Rajiv Sodhi, General Manager, Partner Ecosystem, Microsoft India.
