The experiences generated by immersive technology can combine the real and digital worlds, and enable enterprises to easily train employees. This can also be used for maintenance and repairing across various industries, like healthcare and design.

4. 3D Printing

3D printing technology is becoming mainstream and will continue to grow over the years. The use cases of 3D printing will allow enterprises to decrease product cycle times and create one-off products.

Aerospace is likely to gain the most benefits from 3D printing technology. It will allow them to create lightweight components.

5. Location sensing technologies

The technologies used to track or sense location of things and people will allow organizations to create enterprise-grade apps that can connect digital objects to physical world.

There are around 35 location sensing/tracking technologies available already that vary in providing accuracy and price point. Business applications of these technologies include location-aware car insurance, real-time usage and tracking of medical machinery in hospitals, and more.

6. 3D Cameras

3D cameras are effective in providing depth in images, so that enterprises can measure objects and use 3D content for logistical planning. It can also be used for gesture and facial recognition.

7. Biometrics Authentication

Biometrics authentication is an effective technology that uses biological features like face and eye for authentication. Since the biological features are unique for every user, this technology is way more secure than passwords and PINs.

Businesses can use biometrics authentication to enable more streamlined mobile purchasing and stronger security of building.

Fingerprint and voice authentication have become mainstream nowadays, whereas some biometrics technologies are still immature.
