Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS), the leading cloud infrastructure provider, announced that Symantec Corporation, the leading cyber security company, chose it as its infrastructure provider for maximum of its cloud workloads to deliver cloud security to its global customers through highly scalable infrastructure of AWS.

Symantec has transformed its legacy applications into cloud-based solutions, and has built innovative cloud-native as well as hybrid solutions with the help of AWS’s powerful cloud capabilities.

The deal will help organizations enforce and manage the security and compliance of their applications and data in the AWS cloud. Symantec has also released the list of its security products that have been optimized to help customers to secure and manage their content and applications running in the AWS cloud infrastructure.

Raj Patel, Vice-President, Cloud Platform Engineering at Symantec, said, that AWS’s highly scalable and reliable infrastructure will help their teams to deliver security solutions with a faster time to market.

He added, “Symantec is committed to protecting the cloud generation through our leading security products, as well as leveraging the cloud to deliver our services. AWS’s experience serving some of the most risk-sensitive enterprise customers was an important part of the decision to choose AWS as we execute on our enterprise Integrated Cyber Defense strategy.”

Enterprises use public clouds for moving their critical business information and as such depends on their security and credibility. With Symantec, AWS will be able to improve this security. The partnership will be long-term and bi-directional per AWS, with Symantec not only making a strategic operational move to AWS, but leveraging AWS’s marketplace to extend its global footprint. Symantec even built a data lake on AWS that collects multiple terabytes of business data every day from over 50 million attack sensors and nearly 175 million endpoints.

By taking advantage of the benefits of deploying their software on AWS, Symantec has been able to accelerate its pace of innovation, gain deeper insights through their companywide data lake, and use that knowledge to make better informed business decisions. We look forward to working with Symantec to deliver world-class security to global customers.” Mike Clayville, Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Sales at AWS.

Last month, Microsoft also announced that the global cybersecurity leader, Symantec is using its (Azure) cloud to help offer its Norton consumer products to a large community of people and families.

Now Symantec’s deal with AWS, will certainly make it a combat zone for two of the leading cloud providers.
