Key sub-events at AISS 2022 by NASSCOM-DSCI will recognize the noteworthy contributions in cybersecurity

The 17th edition of the NASSCOM-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit 2022 is set to revive physical interactions with its three-day event at The Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurugram. AISS 2022 seeks to ignite an engaging dialogue on cybersecurity and data protection through a range of activities such as parallel track sessions, sub summits, presentations, and masterclasses that explore pressing issues concerning security & privacy in digital businesses.

Get ready to experience the power-packed cyber event that will host sub-events to recognize the noteworthy contributions in cybersecurity and data protection. The sub-events also aim to impart collective learning around the key cyber security and privacy areas and challenges.

Watch out for these key subevents at AISS 2022

1. Hands-on Hardware Security Workshop

Day-long, subject-driven hardware security workshop will be delivered on Day 1 of AISS 2022 by industry experts on Firmware Reverse Engineering with Ghidhra where the participants will be trained to get started with Ghidhra and evaluate one firmware image taken from a device in production. Under Bluetooth Hacking, participants will be trained in Bluetooth hacking using low-cost hardware tools and open-source software.

2. Diversity session on Women in Security

The session will deliberate on the imperatives of diversity and inclusion and the interventions required to scale up the efforts to promote women’s representation in cybersecurity. Speakers from DSCI, NASSCOM, and Microsoft will join the discussion. The session aims at touching upon the areas like:

• Nurturing women’s talent in Cyber Security
• Interventions and role of stakeholders from a D&I standpoint
• State of women’s representation in Cyber Security workforce
• Women Technology/Security leaders sharing their experiences

3. Cybersecurity Hackathon Capture the Flag

Data Security Council of India & EY is hosting a Cybersecurity Hackathon on the sidelines of the Annual Information Security Summit 2022. The hackathon is 6th in a series of Capture the Flag Competition that DSCI has been hosting and will aim to recognize & reward the best brains & talent in Cyber Security in the country. It is open for participation from Students, Researchers, Developers, Testers, SOC/CDC Teams, Red/Blue Teams, Product Security Teams, and Cyber Security Enthusiasts.

Winners get the opportunity to grab up to INR One Lakh Fifty Thousand (1,50,000/-). The prize money for the first runner-up is INR One Lakh (1,00,000/-), and INR Seventy-five Thousand (75,000/-). This is subject to applicable tax deductions.

The hackathon takes place on 20th December 2022 at the event venue – The Leela Ambience, Gurugram.

4. Innovation Box

DSCI will host the 9th edition of Innovation Box, a platform built to encourage budding entrepreneurs and start-ups by recognizing the innovation they are doing in the domain of cyber security and privacy technology. Under the Innovation Box, DSCI recognizes, honors, and rewards start-ups’ products as ‘The Most Innovative Product of the Year which addresses real risks, builds resilience, increases trustworthiness, and creates a conducive environment for businesses, thus enabling organizations to harness security as a lever for business growth.

The initiative is an attempt to provide support to product start-ups in various aspects by bringing these new players nearer to established security leaders, innovators, and other stakeholders on a common platform for idea sharing, guidance, and collaboration.

It is a live contest where start-ups pitch their solution for five minutes, and the winners are finalized by the esteemed jury members and a live audience poll.

5. DSCI Excellence Awards

AISS 2022 will host the 12th edition of the Excellence Awards, a platform that is designed to celebrate and honor the noteworthy contributions of individuals and organizations to the subject and profession of cybersecurity and data protection. The nominations were invited from various categories under the – Corporate, Law Enforcement, and Product segments.

DSCI received a total of 314 nominations, 219 from Corporate Segments, 64 from Law Enforcement, and 31 from Product Segments. The awards are judged by an eminent jury panel.

 

The finalists are out for all three segments.
