LiveView remote troubleshooting platform offered to ISPs for free to promote safety by eliminating the need for in-person technician visits during COVID-19

KITCHENER, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–RouteThis, a technology solutions provider that empowers Internet Service Providers (ISP) to diagnose and fix internet disruptions virtually, today announced that its remote visual support tool, LiveView, is available for free until June 30, 2020. By using the camera on a customer’s phone or tablet, LiveView provides technicians with real-time visibility into networks, allowing them to guide users to resolve issues without ever stepping foot into a person’s home. LiveView is already in use by major ISPs around the world.

With global internet usage up between 50-70 percent since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, people are relying on broadband connectivity now more than ever. Remote internet troubleshooting is critical to ensuring continued customer support while adhering to physical distancing measures to protect users and technicians.

“Everyone needs to do their part in minimizing the spread of the coronavirus,” says Jason Moore, co-founder and CEO of RouteThis. “Staying connected is crucial for people right now, and that’s why we’re offering LiveView for free to ISPs. Our remote technology turns any personal device into a powerful diagnostic tool and helps get to the root cause of network issues quickly. It also keeps support personnel and customers safe by removing the potential health risks of on-site home visits.”

“Incorporating LiveView into our process was easy,” says Charles Moore, Operations Manager of Cincinnati Bell. “If anybody in the home is experiencing symptoms or doesn’t want a tech in the house, we check the connections outside and then our technicians use LiveView to initiate a video streaming session. LiveView is our perfect way to show the customers and the techs that we care and that we want to keep them protected while still providing good service.”
