At the SharePoint Conference North America, Microsoft announced the availability of SharePoint Server 2019, and new capabilities to SharePoint.
Microsoft has introduced new and modern designs with SharePoint Server 2019 which will work seamlessly across laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile phones. The new version of SharePoint Server will provide instant access to people, content, and apps, so that users can quickly find information and work with it in lesser time.
For better user experience, Microsoft has improved the document libraries and navigation constructs. These improvements are already available with Office 365.
SharePoint Server 2019 will have new communication and collaboration features which includes Communication Sites, Team News, and modern Team Sites.
Microsoft has optimized the information, collaboration, and process features. It will now include SharePoint Home, OneDrive Sync Client, and improved hybrid support. Users will be able to rely on it for their on-premise mission critical workloads as well cloud data.
The tech giant said that it has improved SharePoint Server for developers and IT teams as well.
The multi-geo capabilities of Office 365 will now be available with SharePoint. It will support the global data residency needs of users, by allowing them to store Office 365 data in Office 365 data center geographies.

SharePoint Server 2019 is expected to be generally available in the second half of 2018, following the public preview this Summer. On the other hand, the multi-geo capabilities in SharePoint will also be available for public preview from Summer this year.
