IBM has announced a couple of new services- IBM Cloud Migration Services and IBM Cloud Deployment Services, which will make migrating workloads to public clouds easier and affordable.
With IBM Cloud Migration Services, users can take full advantage of inherent benefits of cloud computing, without adding IT resources.
It takes a lot of time, skills and budget to collect information about workloads and applications that are supposed to be migrated. The self-service Discovery module in the new migration services help IT staff collect accurate data about existing environment and IT assets, so that the migration initiative can be launched in less than a week without any additional BAU resources.
The IT migration project leaders are failing to meet the deadlines of their projects because of insufficient skilled migration engineers, which results in threatening the overall timeline and budget. The new migration services will help the enterprises tap into a pool of skilled and trained migration engineers.
To give organizations a clearer picture of the overall cost and simplify expense-tracking, IBM Cloud Migration Services offer an image-based rate card.
“In addition to providing companies with a significantly less expensive and faster way to orchestrate workloads across various cloud delivery models, IBM Cloud Deployment Services also provides next gen automation with its niche patterns and workflows,” said Bridget Karlin, IBM’s CTO and VP of Global Technology Services. “This helps reduce the service provisioning time and drastically reduces the design, build, deployment and testing efforts.”
IBM Cloud Deployment Services help organizations improve their business agility and efficiency with a centrally hosted IT-as-a-service solution. The deployment services also offer advantages of IBM Watson for intelligent tools.
“The platform along with these new services, provide companies with artificial intelligence tools that bring together human intelligence and technology-driven insights that create cognitive IT infrastructures,” said Karlin. “The IBM platform-powered cognitive IT infrastructure is designed to predict and identify potential problems, self-learn and self-heal, helping reduce business disruption and strengthen a highly secure IT environment.”
The Cloud Deployment services deploy the automated patterns and workflows that capitalize on VMware Inc. Software-Defined Data Center and cloud automation technology.
