Many of us have lots of photos on our phones, but not all of them are something we want to keep. After all, it can be very common to take too many photos at once just to have the perfect result. This is where the need to delete multiple pictures comes into play. Thankfully, there are methods you can use to delete those multiple photos from your iPhone at once.
The simplest way to delete multiple photos
While it can be easy to delete a single photo, things become a tad more difficult when we talk about deleting more than a photo. In fact, you will have to go through a few more steps until everything is good to go. And that’s where these steps come into play:
- Open the Photos app on your phone
- Then you will need to visit the Library tab, here you need to tap All Photos and then press Select
- At this time, you will have to tap on multiple photos, or you can slide the finger over multiple photos. The reason why you need to do so is because it allows you to choose more than a single photo, which is crucial for this process.
- Once you select all the images that you need to be deleted, the request is to tap the Trash button, and here you need to confirm that you want to actually delete all these items.
What happens if the photos are from a Shared Library?
If you have an iCloud Shared Photo Library, you have the opportunity to invite up to 5 contacts and everyone will see and access these photos. The problem is that you should only add people you know and whom you trust. Why is that important? Once a person is a part of that Shared Library, they will be able to delete videos and photos from the library.
While you can delete multiple photos using the method above, that means everyone’s library will update and those photos will be fully removed. Only the person that deleted the image will be able to recover it from the Recently Deleted album. That’s because the image is still kept for 30 days, just in case you want to restore it. After that time passes, the image is lost forever.
Can you use another method?
There is the option to press Select at the top right of the Photos app, and that will allow you to choose the desired images. You can pick as many as you want to delete, which makes it a lot easier to pick multiple images very quickly. It’s a seamless process, and it’s ok to choose even dozens of images if you want. However, you do want to double-check, just to ensure you’re not deleting an image by mistake.
It’s recommended to use these tips and ideas if you want to learn how to delete multiple photos from your iPhone. The process is not very complex, but it can take a little while to get used to the interface and other features. Yet it’s going to make it much easier to manage and even delete images when necessary!
