MWC Shanghai Highlights

MWC Shanghai this year brought together more than 75,000 unique visitors from over 100 countries and territories.

The theme of the event was “Intelligence Connectivity” which describes the powerful combination of flexible, high-speed 5G networks, IoT, AI, and big data, connecting everyone and everything to a better future.

Future of Innovation

The Digital Leaders Programme united policymakers, industry leaders, AI specialists, academia and startups. This programme provided new forums for the industry influencers to discuss forward thinking topics and share their vision for the coming years.

The GSMA Innovation City displayed the latest technologies and cutting-edge innovation. Attendees explored the way Intelligent Connectivity can positively impact the lives of citizens and enterprises globally.

There were opportunities for visitors to try demonstrations of innovations from various sectors, like entertainment, transportation, environment, and robotics. The GSMA Innovation City featured leading brands, such as BICS, China Mobile Migu, G7 Networks, Huawei, myFC, Shanghai Ratta Smart Technology and Singte.

Women4Tech programme

The Women4Tech Summit was focused on bridging the gender gap and championing industry diversity. It brought together senior leaders who addressed trending topics which helped in creating true equality across the industry.

Hyper-connectivity and intelligence

WMC19 Shanghai’s conference programme had more than 4000 attendees, which included over 55% senior-level delegates. These sessions highlighted the intersection of ‘hyper-connectivity’ which is enabled by 5G and IoT, and ‘intelligence’ delivered by AI and big data.

The keynote sessions featured industry experts and leaders from leading organizations—Adriel, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Huawei, JPMorgan Chase, Qualcomm, Reliance Jio, etc.

Shaping the connected future

The tech event also welcomed attendees to 4FYN (4 Years from Now). The 4FYN is one of the most influential startup event platforms that bring a glimpse of things that will shape the connected future. It provides a broad range of opportunities to startups.

Over 100 investors are there, including Cathay Innovation, China Mobile Fund, and Shenzhen Valley Ventures.
