It will bring the capabilities of Dynamics NAV, the enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, to cloud. Dynamics NAV is currently used by more than 2.7 million users around the world.
“Because Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV run the same application code base, this empowers us to smoothly transition all our Dynamics NAV partners and customers into Dynamics 365 Business Central. Dynamics 365 Business Central is a cloud first solution, designed for the age of digital transformation powered by the cloud,” wrote Microsoft in a blog post.
With Business Central, Microsoft aims at unifying and automating the business tasks and workflows, by integrating them with familiar Office 365 services like Word, Excel and Outlook. The users can complete common tasks right from the Outlook, and get the same capabilities across iOS, Android and Windows.
Microsoft has integrated its intelligent technologies like business analytics and connected data services to provide the organizations actionable insights and achieve better results.
For the existing users of Dynamics NAV, the Business Central is just an upgrade, while it is a new cloud solution for the new users.
The Dynamics 365 Business Central is now generally available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, and Finland.
