CloudNow Technologies launches a powerful new Identity and Access Management Solution

2 Mins read

CloudNow Technologies, the cloud solutions specialist, has announced the launch of its latest product offering, Akku. Akku is targeted at all enterprises using cloud-based applications, and helps to enable them to enhance their data security, privacy, compliance to standards, and productivity on the cloud.

This Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution comes packaged with features like single sign-on, password policy enforcement, IP- and device-based restrictions, and multi-factor authentication to provide a comprehensive cloud management solution.

Akku also offers a dedicated deployment support service, without the need for a third-party system integrator, along with round-the-clock support for operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. With this, Akku enables the seamless integration of on-premise legacy applications with that of a company’s cloud environment.

Here are some of Akku’s features, explained:

  • Identity Management & Single Sign-on

With most companies today using a wide range of cloud-based applications, each accessed by its own cross-section of the employee population, Akku’s identity management functionality is meant to help administrators manage all user-related accounts and permissions from a single customized dashboard. Moreover, with Akku performing the role of an Identity Provider (IdP), users of these multiple applications need only sign in once to access all of them instantly.

  • IP- & Device-Based Restrictions

To prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data, Akku’s customized SAML API restricts the access of a company’s applications to only whitelisted IP addresses and approved devices. Through a certificate-based authentication architecture, administrators are also able to instantly revoke access to users, in case of suspicious activity.

  • Password Policy Enforcement

Given the widespread problem of weak passwords among users, it is important to protect against security risks to the whole company and its data. Akku provides a feature to set up and implement a password policy to be mandatorily followed by all users, ensuring that passwords are stronger and the company’s data is safer.

  • Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication is an additional layer of protection applied to a company’s cloud applications in addition to a user’s password. Setting up an MFA is advisable for ensuring strong protection for sensitive data, and requires users to re-validate their identity through a one-time password, fingerprint or retina scanner, a Yubikey and so on.

  • YouTube Filtering

Access to irrelevant YouTube videos results in lower employee productivity, and increases the load on an enterprise’s internet bandwidth. At the same time, YouTube is a powerful enabler for reference and upskilling, and so blocking YouTube completely is not desirable. As a balanced solution to this issue, Akku’s web proxy can enable restricted access to only relevant videos based on Channel ID and Category.

  • Additional Features

With Akku, employers can also block personal emails and regulate employees’ internet activity even without a firewall to ensure improved productivity and security on the cloud.
