C3 IoT, a digital transformation software provider, has joined hands with Intel on an artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT) partnership. The companies together aim to provide on-premise, hybrid and edge-based AI and IoT applications to large commercial and public-sector organizations. The joint solution is an optimized AI software and hardware platform called C3 IoT AI Appliance powered by Intel AI. Microsoft, VMware and Dell are joining forces to offer a mutually designed IoT (internet of things) solution, that can accelerate the adoption of IoT services. To design the joint solution, the companies will integrate their existing IoT solutions— Microsoft Azure IoT Edge, VMware Pulse IoT Center, and Dell Edge Gateways. Intel has signed an agreement to sell Wind River Systems, its embedded software unit, to investment firm TPG. With the deal, Wind River will now be established as an independent software company to drive digital transformation. Cyberattacks to increase in 2018 on IoT and mobile devices: SonicWall Cyber Threat Report 

Malware attacks increased from 7.87 billion in 2016 to 9.32 billion in 2017, while ransomware attacks decreased from 638 million to 184 million, according to SonicWall Cyber Threat Report.
