Avaya, the California-based business communications company, announced the availability of its SaaS-based hybrid cloud services in the New Zealand region.
The services under the banner ‘Powered by Avaya’ will enable medium-sized businesses to easily and flexibly move to cloud-based unified communications (UC) and contact centre (CC).
The users can deploy full range of ‘Powered by Avaya’ solutions on-premises, in hybrid cloud setup, as well as fully-hosted environment. These solutions come with subscription-based model, so that users can manage their migration to cloud.
The medium-sized businesses account for only 6.6% of all the businesses in New Zealand, but represent around one-third of total GDP of the country. The country is rapidly adopting artificial intelligence and internet of things. Several challenges emerge for the midmarket businesses with the expansion of these services.
“New Zealand is a relatively small yet advanced technology market, and while organizations in the region have already implemented cloud strategies, there’s still a long road ahead,” said Peter Chidiac, Managing Director A/NZ, Avaya. “We have launched Powered by Avaya to equip our partner network with a sophisticated and customizable toolset to build cloud-based communications solutions that allow our joint customers to transform effectively.”
Avaya has partnered with Pyrios to integrate ‘Powered by Avaya’ with Pyrios’ expertise in system integrations. The new cloud offering will help channel partners to provide rich customer experiences and end-to-end solutions, with overcoming the emerging challenges.
Robyn O’Reilly, Chief Executive Officer, Pyrios, said, “As a nation, New Zealand is among the leaders in the adoption of cloud-based services; from day-to-day applications right through to specialized solutions. Much of this can be attributed to the densely-populated midmarket, which inspires innovation and adaptability as organizations devise advanced strategies to compete in the fast-moving technology climate.”
The ‘Powered by Avaya’ portfolio comprises the Avaya Oceana (the omnichannel solution for smarter decision-making and enhanced agent-customer interactions), Avaya Equinox (the solution for simple, transparent and user-defined communication), and Avaya Breeze Platform (solution for developers).
These solutions in ‘Powered by Avaya’ will help businesses to easily adopt AI, machine learning, IoT, and big data, with increased profits.

“As a system integrator, the launch of Powered by Avaya in this market allows Pyrios to essentially build a brand-new business based on a network of channel partners that advances our existing as-a-service portfolio. This will also help our customers – particularly those in financial services, government, manufacturing and retail – speed up their own transformation projects within the cloud,” added Robyn O’Reilly.
