Microsoft has once again made a number of important updates to Office 365 products to speed up productivity and improve user experience. This month’s updates will reflect improvements in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Yammer, and Outlook.

“This month, we’re rolling out improvements to help you build a more productive, collaborative, and secure work environment for you and your organization,” said Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365 in a blog post.

In Excel, Microsoft is bringing a new formula- XLOOKUP. The new formula will overcome the well-known limitations of VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP. Using XLOOKUP, users will be able to perform the exact lookup in just 3 arguments. It is easier to use and less prone to errors.

For PowerPoint, the tech giant has introduced several updates. One of them is Sketched Shapes. Using this, users can change shapes into freeform that look hand drawn, conveying that the work is still in progress. For PowerPoint web, there is now subscript, superscript, and change case buttons in slides, enabling users to simply select text and change it right from the web browser.

The updated OneNote on iPad allows users to insert basic shapes and graphs into their notebook page. Besides this, there is also an option to import meeting details from Outlook, while on iPhone there are inking capabilities added for the users.

Microsoft also introduced a new interface design to its products. It is bringing dark mode in Outlook mobile app on iOS and Android platform, and web version of Office.com.

Soon, users will be able to experience enhanced Yammer mobile interface. The new Yammer has modernized feed with improved readability, better conversation view including seen counts to know how many people have seen the messages, group search and life events. These features are updated for Yammer Android and iOS mobile apps.

There are a couple of other changes, such as new FastTrack deployment guidance to help customers move from Windows 7 and Office 2010 to Windows 10 Enterprise and Office 365 ProPlus, respectively.
