Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of eCommerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., today announced that it’s partnering with Red Hat, the world’s leading open source solutions provider, to offer a range of popular Red Hat products to its customers around the world.
Alibaba Cloud joining Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider program, signifies that it meets all the requirements to offer Red Hat solutions in public cloud. Other leading cloud providers including AWS and Microsoft Azure are also members of Red Hat’s program.
Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider Program is a platform to bring together the services of cloud service providers and Red Hat technologies to customers. Every cloud service provider needs to meet the testing and certification requirements to confirm that they are able to deliver safe, scalable, supported and consistent environment for enterprise cloud deployments.

The partnership will extend the reach of Red Hat’s offerings to Alibaba cloud customers across the world. Alibaba Cloud will offer Red Hat Enterprise Linux in its marketplace on pay-as-you-go model, and it will also cover Red Hat’s OpenShift Enterprise PaaS, which means that most of the RedHat’s products will be offered on Alibaba Cloud in the coming weeks.

Red Hat customers with eligible and unused Red Hat subscriptions will be able to move their datacenter to Alibaba Cloud using Red Hat Cloud Access in the coming months.
