Accenture has acquired Philadelphia-based consulting firm, IBB Consulting.
The leading global professional services company, Accenture plans to use IBB to deliver strategic advisory services to its Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) industry clients and expand its expertise revolving around key issues – network infrastructure, digital transformation, internet of things (IOT), cloud, IPTV, software, mobility, content and devices.
With their decades old, combined business intelligence and technology consultancy experience, IBB enables cable, media companies and mobile operators to meet their business growth and technology objectives and challenges. The convergence specialists, help them identify emerging market shifts, adapt to market changes along with ability to capitalize on new business and technology opportunities.
As per Mark Knickrehm, Chief Executive Officer, Accenture Strategy “Companies across all industries are staking claims in the digital world, disrupting media, communications, high tech companies and IoT players, fueling deep competition from industry stalwarts and nimble new entrants alike.”
He further stated, “The acquisition of IBB Consulting will enhance our ability to deliver deep, industry-specific strategies for our clients by helping them define and deliver a new breed of capabilities that drive competitiveness, reduce costs, leverage emerging technologies and expand operational excellence to put them atop the intersection of business, technology and operations.”
Once the acquisition is completed, approximately 160 of IBB Consulting’s workforce is expected to join the Accenture Strategy CMT industry practice. Majority of workforce professionals are based in North America and some in Australia.
This acquisition is the latest in a string of acquisitions Accenture made this year. Accenture bought consulting firms Search Technologies and Brand Learning, a month ago.
